Sziasztok pipikék,
Bocsánat, hogy az elmúlt héten nem volt bejegyzés, ennek oke egy kis szőrös tornádó volt. Egy cicánk már van, ő Berlin (1 éves múlt, ivartalanított kandúr), és már régóta gondolkoztunk azon, hogy befogadunk még egy macskát. Nem jártuk körbe a menhelyeket, nem is kezdtünk el annyira kérdezősködni, inkább csak vártuk a lehetőséget. Ez pedig pár hete jött el, amikor is mutattak nekünk egy nagyon rossz minőségű képet, egy végtelenül cuki kis cicával. Akkor ott azt mondtuk, hogy igen, kérjük, megpróbáljuk. Mivel nem voltunk biztosak benne, hogy fog-e működni a dolog, ezért előre megbeszéltünk egy B tervet is, ami annyiból állt, hogy ha nem tetszenek egymásnak, akkor az új jövevény leköltözik párom anyukájához, aki szintén nagy macska imádó.
Az első kép után két héttel meg is érkezett hozzánk a pöttöm kandúr, aki az Etienne nevet kapta. Tüneményes volt, ahogy a kis cérnavékony hangján megszólalt. Betettük a hálószobába, ahova előre bekészítettünk neki mindent, és bezártuk az ajtót. Egyikünk bent maradt vele, hogy ne érezze magát egyedül, míg a másikunk a nappaliban volt Berlinnel. Hát, mit ne mondjak, Berlinnek abszolút nem tetszett a helyzet, fújt, nyávogott, támadta az ajtót. Első nap ez ment, hallani sem akart arról, hogy ide másik macska költözik. Az estét külön töltötték, és mi is. Én aludtam bent a hálóban, míg párom kint a nappaliban, hogy Berlin ne érezze azt, hogy őt már nem is szeretjük. Másnap olyat tettünk, amit térfél cserének neveznek. Mivel a macskák territoriális állatok, egy új cica nagyon meg tudja borítani a rendet. A csere azt segíti elő, hogy megismerjék egymás szagát, anélkül, hogy kárt tennének a másikban. Úgy látszott, hogy ez valamennyit segített, mivel délután felügyelet mellett már mindketten kint mászkáltak. Etienne nagyon ment Berlin után, aki abszolút nem élvezte a helyzetet, időnként még mindig fújt rá. Este megint külön aludtunk, ezúttal én voltam a kanapén. Harmadik nap kicsit javult a helyzet, de itt meg is álltunk sajnos.
Mióta itt van a kicsi azóta Berlin visszafogott, távolságtartó, kevesebbet eszik, nem játszik, és amikor foglalkozik a kicsivel, akkor általában vagy üldözi vagy birkóznak, aminek szinte mindig ordítás a vége. Bár nagyon cuki a kis szélvész, és vannak pillanatok, amikor nem vesznek tudomást egymásról, így akár egymás mellett fekszenek pár percig, de összességében olyan az egész, mint egy állóháború. Emiatt döntöttünk úgy, hogy Etiennek jobb helye lesz párom anyukájánál, ahol egyedüli cicaként el lesz kényeztetve, és reméljük, ha már nincs konkurencia Berlin is visszatalál régi önmagához.
Annak ellenére, hogy még sem marad velünk úgy gondoltam mégis megmutatom Etiennet, mert nagyon nagyon cuki kis édespofa.

I'm sorry, that there were no posts last week, but a fuzzy little tornado took up most of my time. We already have a cat, his name is Berlin (neutered, older than 1 year male) and thought about getting another cat for a while now. We didn't really checked the shelters or went around asking, were had the approach, that when the opportunity comes, we'll take it. Well, this opportunity came a few weeks ago in a form of a very bad picture of a very cute kitten. We thought, okay, let's try this. Because we were not sure, how Berlin would react we also thought about a plan B. This was, that if things go south my boyfriends mom will take the kitten. Yes, she also loves cats, so she would take good care of him.
Two weeks after we saw the pic the little guy arrived at our home, and we named him Etienne. He was so cute, and those kitten meows were adorable. We put him in to the bedroom, were we already set up everything for him and closed the door. While one of us stayed with him, the other one was out in the living room with Berlin. Oh boy was he not having any of this shit. He was growling, hissing, attacking the door. This went on pretty much for the entire day, he was absolute not amused. Of course the cats spent the first night in separate rooms, and so did we. I was in the bedroom with Etienne, and my boyfriend was in the living room with Berlin. We didn't want him to feel as if we stopped loving him. Next day we did the side swap thing. Cats are territorial beings, so a new cat will bring some chaos in the old cats world. With the side swap they can get to know each others scent without harming each other. It looked promising as they spent the afternoon with doors wide open, but we kept a close eye on them. Etienne was totally chill with the situation, he followed Berlin everywhere and wanted to play all the time. Berlin, well, he was still not so fond of the whole thing and hissed occasionally. Again, we spent the night separately, this time I landed on the couch. The third day it got a little bit better, and since then we didn't make any progress. Berlin is very laid back, he is distancing himself from everything, food, play, us and when he interacts with Etienne he is either chasing him or wrestling with him in a very rough way. Also, the little one is always following him everywhere, he has no free minute, and the tiny fellow is very demanding.

So, while Etienne is really really cute, we do feel that Berlin is not comfortable with the situation, and the whole thing is like positional warfare. They sometimes do have minutes, where they don't take notice of each other and even end up beside each other, but those don't last very long. We want both cats to be happy and safe, therefor Etienne will move to my boyfriends mom at the end of this week. We hope, that after he is gone Berlin will be the old Berlin we love so much. Despite him leaving us soon I still wanted to show some pics of Etienne, because he is such a handsome and cute little kitten.
